Who is The Greatest Basketball Player of All Time
Many people said Michael Jordan is the best player of all time. He is not just an offensive player but also one of the greatest defender of all time or known as 2-way player. He had 9 NBA all Defensive 1st team and 2 Defensive Player of the year title in his career. In fact, Michael Jordan have the best offensive arsenal that makes him great. He recorded 10 times NBA scoring title in his career. The most important throughout his career was he had 6 rings in his 13 seasons in the NBA. Michael Jordan considered as one of the most influential athlete before until now because of how he played basketball and inspired other people. The question here is "Is Michael Jordan the best player of all time?"
Michael Jordan
What makes player become greatest of all time? There are many categories or aspect to be considered that would make the player become great. For me, I considered here if the player became the most dominant player in his era, if he achieved many titles throughout his career, ability to carry his team to championship and achieved an individual awards. So let's back to our question, is Michael Jordan the best player of all time? How about Wilt Chamberlain? How about Bill Russell? How about Kobe Bryant? How about Lebron James? How about the others? There are so many players that could be considered as the greatest player of all time. It could be Wilt Chamberlain who has been recorded a monsterous numbers throughout his career. He currently held the most points in a single game with 100 points and most rebounds in a single game with 55. Yes, it looks like those numbers only happen in the video game right? But it was real. Among the records of Wilt Chamberlain are considered unremarkable such as averaging 22.9 rebounds per game for a career and 50.4 points per game in a season. Wilt had 2 championship tiltle and 4 MVP's in his whole career.

Among the list of the greatest is Bill Russell who holds the record with 11 championships throughout his career. He played 13 seasons in the NBA and won his 1st championship when he was a rookie. He was the greatest rival of Wilt Chamberlain during that era. He carried the Boston Celtics for the championships until his career over. Bill Russel is not known as scoring machine even he averaged 15.1 points per game unlike Wilt Chamberlain but his defensive and rebounding skills led him to became succesful in his basketball career. He sets a NBA record in rebounds per game which is 24.9 in his whole career who had an edge a little with 2 rebounds per game compared to Wilt Chamberlain.

How about Kobe Bryant? Kobe won 5 championships over 20 seasons in the NBA. During his prime, he was considered as one of the best scorer in the history of NBA and 2nd among the highest points in a single game with 81 points against the Toronto Raptors. Michael Jordan told the ESPN during his interview that Kobe Bryant is the only player who has the capability to beat him 1 on 1 because Kobe actually stole all of his moves as well as the killer instinct and killer mentality on court. Kobe Bryant actually only had 1 MVP over 20 seasons but there's a lot of contreversy and story behind that. For me, Kobe was snub 3 times by the NBA because of the media. Most of the media really hate Kobe Bryant so that's why Kobe didn't get those votes. Steve Nash was the MVP 2 times and Dirk Nowitzki 1 MVP instead of Kobe Bryant. Kobe Bryant carried the trash team Lakers into the playoffs without any allstar in his team during those years. Like Michael Jordan, Kobe was the most influential athelete during 2000's.

We all know that Lebron James is one of the famous athlete right now. Many people said Lebron James is the only threat in Jordan's legacy. Currently, Lebron James recorded 9 consecutive final appearances but 3-6 win-lose record. He is 34 years old but still not yet showing any slow down in his career. He is still considered as the best basketball player right know behind Kevin Durant according to my point of view. Lebron had 4 MVP's and averaging 27-7-7(points-rebounds-assists) in his career. In fact, by the time Lebron James leave the Cleveland as well as the Miami, those team became a lottery team. That's the impact and value of Lebron James in the team. The problem here for me, Lebron James absolutely disrespect the players before him for telling the whole world that he is the greatest of all time especially when he led the cavaliers into the championships after the 52 year drought. Scottie Pippen told to the ESPN if you feel that you are the greatest of all time, why you should say it? Just let people say it. Michael Jordan has never ever said he is the greatest player of all time because he respect the player prior to him like Chamberlain, Russell, Larry Bird, Jerry West and other greats.

For me, Michael Jordan is the greatest player of all time. The way he played basketball during his time is truly unremarkable. His clutchness, killer mentality, offensive power as well as defensive ability. Many legends says that Michael Jordan could average 50 point per game right this era. Honestly, I considered here the era before and now. As of now, I could say this era is soft because a lot of player now complaining about the miss/foul calls which is true. I think referees right now ruined the league. Many players right now says you cant touch the players because if you do, the whistle will blow. As per Draymond Green, defense is not the prioroty anymore. If you compare the era between now and before, era before is more physical compared to the era right now. Imagine if you put great players like Lebron James, Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis right now to the Jordan era, could they handle the physicality before?
